Assessments are powerful tools

Recently I have heard of a lot of organizations offering the DISC assessment for athletes and college programs to help them and their coaches understand player and team behavior.  I am in agreement that this assessment tool is a valuable instrument that, if used properly, the recipient and the coach understand their natural behavior style versus how they adapt when being observed which is paramount in athletic competition; thus, it is a win-win for all.  However I believe what’s more important is those assessments that help the coach and player understand how they think and what they believe about themselves and their attitude around athletic competition is even more valuable.  This is why I highly recommend the attribute index assessment which measures our 3 dimensions of thought and our 3 dimensions of self.
