Affirmation versus Action

“Self-help doesn’t work without action, and action is our answer to every problem.” ~ Darren Hardy

When it comes to the value and use of affirmations two schools of thoughts exist.  One is affirmations are useless, they cause people to sit staring at a vision board waiting for something good to happen. The second thought is affirmations are great because they help us frame in our mind the things that we want to accomplish or gain. I guess I can see both thoughts. However, I prescribe to the belief that for most of us to have hope we need a vision. I also believe scripture can sum up both views with its sacred words, and I paraphrase: A man without a vision is dead, hope is the belief in things we cannot see, and faith without works is dead.
