just do it

You’ve probably heard the expression, “we are creatures of habit”.  There is considerable truth to that statement, for many of the things that we do are the results of habits that have been formed throughout our lives.

Think about what you do on a typical weekday.  You get out of bed, get showered and dressed, eat breakfast, travel to school, go to classes, etc. It’s all part of your daily habit, your routine.

Some daily habits are in our personal best interest and aligned with our success now and in the future. These are good habits. So examples of good habits include:

  • Effective study habits
  • Healthful eating habits
  • A positive self-image
  • Physical fitness
  • Being goal directed

Some habits may not be so good.  If a habit is keeping you from accomplishing something important, it’s a habit you need to change.

Your ability to develop winning habits is of primary importance in achieving your personal goals.  Become proactive about developing good habits. By eliminating bad habits and replacing them with constructive ones you will more often do what is required to achieve your goal.  For example instead of thinking about why something can’t be done.  Think about how you CAN do it!

Replacing negative attitudes with positive ones will help you feel better about yourself and your future.  Realize that success comes in “cans” not “cant’s”.  Instead of thinking about mistakes, failures, or what you think you can’t do.

Tell yourself you CAN! Develop GOOD habits!
