For many of us our attitude can be our biggest hindrance in our lives or it can be the fuel that propels us to that next big thing it all depends on you. I have never understood why people choose to spend their time worrying about things that haven’t happened or negative things that could happen. I can remember my grandmother’s both saying to whoever had a poor attitude to stop worrying before they made themselves sick. In other words, if your attitude was negative or if you sat around having a sad or worrisome disposition then it was going to affect your overall health.
In the piece ATTITUDE by Charles Swindoll the pastor writes
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company…a church…a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so, it is with you…we are in charge of our attitudes.”
His point is so true we oversee how we react to things that happen to us. We cannot change how a bad driver who cuts us off drives, or the boss who just doesn’t seem to get it or even the love one who may frustrate us to no end. Our attitude can determine a lot about how we experience this fun, crazy, up and sometimes down thing called life.
