Changing Our Thinking

One of the best parts of starting Right Choice Coaching has been helping my clients get improve results both in their personal lives and professional lives.  By helping people change what they do, it helps people change how they think and when people change how they think they change their outcomes.  Pastor Joel Osteen in his new book writes that we are not created to just get by with average, unrewarding, or an unfulfilling lives.  He goes on to say that God created you to leave your mark on this generation.  You have gifts and talents that you have not tapped into.  But breakout starts in your thinking.  So I ask you this question who is helping you change how you think?

Some experts tell us that as much as 95% of the basic attitudes we carry with us through life were formed by the age of five.  By five years of age we have all been bombarded with countless don’ts, wont’s, cant’s, shouldn’t, wouldn’t and the like, leaving the majority of people in their most formative years with more negative attitudes than positive ones.  These negative influences eventually make their way into the playing field or workplace when we become adults. We have all heard them.  “That won’t work”.  “We can’t do that”.  “We have never done it that way before”. Negative attitudes in the have been around since time immemorial.  What is new is the debilitating effect that negative attitudes can have on performance and business in this age when change happens at such rapid speeds.  If you or your company is truly going to get results and achieve its vision in today’s tough environment, you must ensure that a process is put in place that consistently transforms negative attitudes into positive ones.

Becoming the best version of yourself in your personal life or in business requires at least five important elements.

1. DREAM. Have the ability to envision it happening.

2. MAKE A PLAN. Write the process down and exact steps (no matter how small) on how you plan to get there.

3. HAVE COURAGE. Achieving success in anything, and then maintaining it, is not for the faint of heart.

4. BE TENACIOUS. Going after your personal and professional goals will inevitably present bumps in the road. Push through.

5. HAVE FAITH. In addition to faith in your plans, the spiritual faith in a supreme being is fundamental.
