Its official Christmas 2014 is in the books. Now it is time to plan for the New Year. I mentioned on my podcast this week, in order to make the next year better than the one that’s ending, you have to “let it go”. Trying to set new year resolutions or new goals means you have to look ahead. Looking back makes us hold on to things that are behind us. Letting it go involves many different things and several famous quotes come to mind:
Ralph Marston said “Rest when you’re weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, and your spirit. Then get back to work.” In order to let it go and start anew one must refresh as they start the New Year.
Peter F Drucker wrote “Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.” It takes courage sometimes to make the next year better than the previous.
Now the challenging part of letting things go is that it is easier said than done and sometimes like a pitcher working on his or her mechanics, or a great hitter whose swing is a little off, we have to hire a coach to help us get back on the right track. If you, or someone you know, are going through any life transition situation, need support around goal setting, or need help getting your employees engaged, you should look to a coach who is skilled at supporting people to start new.
“Success is the continuous achievement of your own predetermined goals, stabilized by balance, and purified by belief.”
- Do you feel successful, but not quite fully satisfied?
- Are you determining your goals and what’s important to you?
- Have you ever struggled with your work-life balance?
If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, now may be the time to take control of your destiny by hiring a coach.
A coach is a professional who works with individual clients to help them achieve results and sustain life-changing behavior in their lives and careers.
Coaches address the whole person—with an emphasis on uncovering blind spots and producing right action that leads to more fulfillment, more balance, and more effective processes for living.
Personal coaching is the single best way to reach your personal and professional goals.
“It is better to look ahead and prepare than to look back and regret.”
