A quote I came across recently states that “You learn more from failure than from success. Don’t let it stop you. Failure builds character.” I would have to agree failure builds character.
As many of you know me and my wife spent an incredible week in the nation’s capital as history scholars and first class tourist. We spent 8 to 10 hours every day, walking on average of 10 miles a day from Wednesday to Sunday going from museum to museum, site after site hearing and being reminded of the incredible history of our country. If you have never been to Washington D.C it is a must see place.
What I was reminded of as we went from the White House to Holocaust museum, from the Supreme Court and Capital building to Frederick Douglass house is that our country’s failures can build character, and yes we have had our share of failures. But in the end, we endured and here we are.
That is just what we need to be reminded of in our everyday life. When we hit a bump in the road we have to keep going. When something unexpected comes our way we can’t let it stop us. If we stay the course, stay committed to our goals and keep working our action plan we will achieve the things in life that we imagine. But the question is what are you going to do about it? What book have you read recently where you actually applied the principles, have you finally written your goals on paper and placed them where you see them every day. Is your vision board complete?
We can become the change we want, but we have to do something. We can achieve our dreams and goals if we don’t let our failures stop us!
