1/6/17
For many reasons, from Thanksgiving to the new year is probably my favorite time of year. I have family time and traditions, great food, and tons of laughs. Then there is a bunch of sports, college football, which I love watching because it reminds me of my college football days. Plus, the NBA starts to get serious with the Christmas day games and let’s not forget the NFL playoffs.
But I think what I enjoy most about this time of year is the opportunity for people to do some personal insight, renew things about themselves that are working and re-set areas of their lives that are not. I heard it said recently that making an “Aspiration” list instead of a resolution list is more effective, and I agree wholeheartedly. I encourage people to simply write a list of what they are grateful for on one side of a sheet of paper and a list of things they want for themselves on the other side. Then everyday read out loud both sides of the paper at least if nothing else you are beginning to alter your thinking and when we change our thinking, we change how we feel. By changing how we feel we change our attitude, which changes what we do and when we change what we do, we change our results.
With my coaching clients as a Life Coach, or coaching student athletes on the softball field I remind them that their attitude determines what they experience, and how they experience life each day. I remind them when they lift their attitude, their energy and spirit changes as well. It is like the saying, change your attitude and you change your altitude.
So, my challenge to you in 2017, is to lift your attitude higher, be present and aware of your energy and spirit. Be someone you would want to be around and give the thing you want to receive. Choose to be positive and if you haven’t already, choose to be happy.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
