What Is Your Real Purpose

In my soon-to-be-released book about faith, I share the story of a former co-worker who was great at enrolling students at the college where I was Executive Director.  In fact, she was so good at her job that she frequently won awards and was repeatedly named Enrollment Services Representative of the Year.  After seven years into her career, this friend discovered a real purpose of her excelling: to influence change in the life’s path of her own daughter. After watching her mom enroll student after student, and hearing the great stories about people like her changing their lives, the  daughter decided to give up her “street life”.  She enrolled in a program at the college and put her life on a positive track.  Even after all of the awards and accolades my colleague received, I shared with her that I believed her whole purpose in life was much bigger- my colleague was meant to be in a position where, when her daughter was ready, the  answers could be right in front of her.  I encourage you to look at your life and ask yourself: “What is my real purpose?”
